Here we are in the most desirable area of America's Mid-West, the land between the Little Miami and Great Miami Rivers, nestled in the southwestern part of Ohio...The Greater Dayton Region.
Making up the Great Dayton Region are the counties: Montgomery, Miami, Greene, and Clark. The Greater Dayton Region is quite extensive, and it includes: Warren, Butler, Clinton, Preble, Darke, Fayette, and Madison.
The region has richness of soil, lushness of meadows, is well timbered and level. Nature allows us to experience the best of the four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter.
The region's climate and its productive soils early enticed settlers to establish agricultural communities, and because of the transportation advantages provided by the rivers and later the canals, these communities developed into the industrial cities for which the region is still known. The valley continues to prosper and industry abounds.
Dayton is known as the "city of inventions," and it takes pride in having given the world the airplane, the cash register, the automobile self-starter, and the pop-top can...the list continues. There is no end to new ideas, inventions, and innovations.
We have in this region a very rich and diverse history to explore. We offer an exciting array of presentations in the arts plus a wide variety of cultural events. It is home to many spectacular attractions, both educational and entertaining. Parks and open spaces are everywhere in the region. There are state-of-the-art recreational centers that serve thousands. Our area offers an elaborate arena of spectator sports, athletic programs, and events.
